Kent On Money

 Kent Smetters is the Boettner Chair Professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Previous positions include the Congressional Budget Office, the Kaiser Visiting Professor of Economics at Stanford Economics Department. In 2001, he was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of the United States Treasury. His research focuses on applied theory, optimal fiscal policy, personal finance and asset pricing. He previously cofounded a national registered investment advisory firm that built a new technology platform, grew the firm to over 50 advisors and then sold the firm to the largest broker-dealer in the U.S.  He is often cited in major media outlets. He received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University.
